In Sept' & Oct', a skinsuit and a string vest is about all the clothing needed. Add shades, sun-oil, my favourite shower gel and aftershave and my bag's packed.

In Nov' the long sleeves are in the bag, and by Dec' the Thermolycra ‘boil-in-the-bag’ skinsuit and embrocation goes in (particularly that lard-like grease that stops your legs from going blue). I throw in a bin liner for all that muddy kit, and a flask of coffee.

By Christmas, my passport, €'s and a quality book find their way into the side pocket, and unless life has taken a really bad turn I'm off to get humbled in Belgium!
